Leicestershire Senior League – Missing Info

Information that is still needed to complete the history of the Leicestershire Senior League.

1975/76

Kettering Town Reserves joined the league this season but I don’t know if they played in a league for the 1974/75 season.

1973/74

Corby Town Reserves joined the league this season but I don’t know if they played in a league for the 1972/73 season.

1969/70

Loughborough Colleges left the league after this season but I’m unsure where they played after that.

1968/69

Syston St. Peter’s left the league after this season, I’m unsure if they played in another league or folded.

1966/67

Hinckley Athletic Reserves left the league, I’m not sure if they played in a league the following season.

1960/61

Leicester City ‘B’ left the league but I’m not sure if they disbanded or if they continuted to play in youth or intermediate leagues.

1958/59

I’m not sure if Leicester City ‘B’ are a new 4th team of Leicester City or if they previously played in youth or intermediate leagues under a different name.

1956/57

Hinckley Athletic Reserves joined the league but I’m not sure if they were newly formed or if they played in another league the previous season (they last played in the Leicestershire Senior League in the 1953/54 season but I can’t trace them between these seasons).

1953/54

Hinckley Athletic Reserves left the league but I’m unsure if they played in another league or if Hinckley Athletic did not run a reserve team.
Whitwick Colliery Reserved joined the league but I can’t find a record of them playing in a league the previous season (the season before that they were in the Leicestershire Senior League).

1952/53

Bedworth Town Reserves joined the league but I’ve not been able to find any record of the reserves playing the previous season.

1951/52

Whitwick Colliery Reserves left the league but I have been unable to find out if they played in a league the following season.

1950/51

Burgess Products joined the league but I’m not sure if they played in a league or just the Hinckley Factory Cup competition.
I think Desford Colliery are a new club but I need to fully confirm this.

1947/48

Loughborough Colleges joined the league but I’m not sure if they played last season. They previously played in the Leicestershire Senior League in the 1945/46 season.
Rolls-Royce Mountsorrel joined the league but I’m not sure if this is a new club or if they were a different Mountsorrel club that was renamed.

1946/47

I’m not sure if the Stewarts & Lloyds team is the reserves or the first team (assuming reserves)

1945/46

Ellistown Colliery joined the league but I’m not sure where they came from.
Leicester City Colts left the league but I’m not sure where they played next or if the team was renamed.
REME Leicestershire left the league but I’m not sure if they became another team or if they disbanded.

1944/45

I’m not sure where the RAF teams came from or went to, it looks like they were just around for this season before disbanding (apart from RAF Wymeswold).

1943/44

BTH Sports (Leicester) left the league but unsure if they disbanded.
Need to find out if the single RAF team turned into the multiple different RAF teams that appeared the next season.

1942/43

I’m unsure where the following teams came from or where they went to, 106 Bridge Company, BTH Sports (Leicester), Number 23 PTC, RAPC (HAA) and RAPC (LAA).

1941/42

Unsure where RAOC Oadby joined from or where they went to.
I do not know if Central Ordnance Depot Old Dalby played in another league before joining the Leicestershire Senior League.
Unsure if RAPC Woodhouse left the league or formed one of the two RAPC teams that were in the league the next season.
It’s stated in a newspaper article that all matches were completed so it looks like I’m missing the result of one match.

1940/41

I do not know where RAPC Woodhouse joined from (a lot of teams that joined the league during the war seemed to be related to the armed forces that had previously not existed before)

1939/40

I need to confirm if Hugglescote United disbanded after this season.

1937/38

Unsure if Leicestershire Nomads fielded a reserve team the next season after they left the league.
The minutes of the annual meeting of the league says that all matches were completed, plus a separate report on Quorn Methodists shows them playing 26 matches so it looks like I’m missing the results of four matches.

1929/30

Need to find out what happened to Barrow Trinity after they left the league.
Newhall United appear to have disbanded but I need to find out if this really was the case.

1928/29

Need to determine if Whitwick Imperial disbanded after this season.

1926/27

Check if Shepshed Albion really did disband after leaving the league.
Work out when Barwell United really did leave the Senior League as they appeared in the FA Cup draw the next season.
Confirm what happened to Measham Town.
