Central Midlands Alliance

The Central Midlands Alliance was formed in the 1971/72 season as the South Derbyshire Premier League, dropping the “South” part from the name a year later. In an attempt to widen the appeal and area of the league the name was changed to the Central Midlands Football League for the 1983/84 season. In 2023/24 the Central Midlands League absorbed the Midlands Regional Alliance to form the Central Midlands Alliance.
The Central Midlands Alliance sits at step 7 of the Non League Pyramid.
Teams from Leicestershire featured heavily in this league from the start, but disappeared during the early 1990s until 2021/22 when Castle Donington joined the league.
