Ashby & District Football League
This was one of the first Junior football leagues to be set up in Leicestershire. Formed for the 1895/96 season (along with the Leicester & District, Hinckley & District, and North Leicestershire Football Leagues). The league went close to folding at the end of the 1898/99 season before being restructured and continuing until the end of the 1900/01 season.
The initial teams were Ellistown, Gresley Swifts, Ibstock Albion, Measham Wanderers, Moira Rovers, Overseal Town & Pool Village Wanderers, plus the reserve teams of Ashby Albion, Coalville Albion, Hugglescote Robin Hoods & Whitwick Town.
What do we know about this league ?
All participating teams are known, but I only have full final tables for two of the seasons.
